This weekend we went to a couple of nice places.  Friday and Saturday we went to visit my family at our farm in Cañas, Guanacaste (about 1 hr. from where we live, 3 hrs. from where they live…)  On Saturday evening we went to this rescue center, about 3 miles from the farm.  They have jaguars, monkeys, different species of wild cats, macaws, parrots, etc…  They receive and/or rescue wild animals in need.

This is an Ocelot, Manigordo in spanish…

These are parrots, loras in spanish

Sunday and Monday we went to Monteverde National Park, to do some photos of a hotel there, I’ll post those photos soon!

Liberia, Guanacaste

Last friday I went to a farm near my house, in the city of Liberia Guanacaste. We went there to do a photography session for a girl who’s turning 15 (here turning 15 is like turning 16 in the USA, it’s a big celebration).  There were cows, bulls, chickens, pigs, dogs, horses! It was a beautiful 600 hectare property with a typical house from that area that was more than 100 years old!  That’s their farm and the girl wanted to do her photos there… a very special place for her and her family.

I was in the Central Pacific Coast again, got back yesterday from a 4 day work trip at Del Pacifico Development.  This time, the tour across the Tárcoles River was a little different, it was pouring rain but gladly I saw a couple of birds that I hadn’t seen in my last trips there, among them, was this amazing hawk; just stading still, posing for the camera.   I also got a lot of crocodile photos, the biggest I’ve seen, hope to post them soon!

View of Granada

This is the view of Granada, and the Cathedral from the tower of La Merced’s Church.  In the back, you can see the Cocibolca Lake.

A few weeks ago I went to Granada, to photograph the Hotel Casa La Merced.  On our free time, we got a chance to tour the town; beautiful by the way.  This was a boat trip we did around the Isletas (or small islands), of the Cocibolca Lake.

at sunset

I took this photo at sunset time, at the sunset bar of the Hilton Doubletree Hotel, while I was shooting a 2 day session for them.  These birds, I think, were sea gulls.

Snowy Egret

While on a boat tour through the Tarcoles River in Costa Rica, I took a lot of nature and bird photography, this series is one of my favorite from that tour.
